About the EXTRA® Oral Healthcare Program

Since the 1930s, The Wrigley Company has invested in research into the benefits of sugarfree gum and its role in a good oral care routine. Clinical studies show chewing between brushing has a significant impact, helping neutralise plaque acid and prevent tooth decay and keep our mouths clean and healthy.1

Our mission is to help patients improve their regular oral healthcare routine between brushing, flossing, and regularly visiting their dental care professionals, through to chewing sugarfree gum after eating and drinking.

Through the years, we’ve established great relationships with dental professionals like you. We’re excited to keep doing more to help you and your patients.

Our connection

The program is run by our company under the stewardship of our largest oral care brand, EXTRA® sugarfree gum. We’re the world’s leading manufacturer of chewing gum and a strong supporter of clinical research into the oral health benefits of chewing sugarfree gum.  For more than 35 years, we have worked in partnership with the dental profession to help promote better oral healthcare, while supporting independent research and clinical studies.

Through literature, conferences, sampling and supporting continuing professional development, we aim to engage and educate dentists and allied dental professionals about the oral health benefits of chewing sugarfree gum as part of a healthy oral care routine.  By building an open dialogue with our long term partners, we aim work towards the greater improvement of the oral health of Australia.
